The Electric City is buzzing about hometown Alternative Rock band The Maguas. Based out of Scranton Pennsylvania, The Maguas hit the ground running, playing shows throughout Scranton, Philadelphia, and New York – with even bigger and better plans for the future. In December 2018, they were voted ALT-Natives of the Month.
The Maguas are greatly influenced by bands such as The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, and even fellow Scranton natives The Menzingers and Tigers Jaw. What makes The Maguas distinct, however, is that their musical stylings stretch across the surface of multiple genres, allowing the band to express their deepest emotions without being confined by one particular sound.
Following the great streaming success of their single “Bird Cage,” The Maguas released their first record “Good Beer.” on February 1st, 2019. As The Maguas come face to face with their own insecurities and inner demons, “Good Beer.” unravels from a deeply introspective reflection into a final will and testament to what once held them behind.
